Lovely foliage and water. Map to the featured scenic ‘Crack’ at the kayak rental place was totally inadequate. I soon became lost (no reception, no signage) and paddled 3+ hours looking for it. Final… Full review by ginabQ1840JZ

Hi! I would like information about camping at the Chassahowitzka National Wildlife Refuge. Reviewers here have camped and I am interested in camping also but there is no online information about it, whether you can reserve, and the amenities, i.e., are there bathrooms and potable water or is it outback style camping. We would be traveling a distance and therefore would like to know what to expect ahead of time. Any information would be appreciated. They are not answering the phone at the Refuge.

Call Chassahowitzka River Campground at (352) 382-2200 The campground is located on Miss Maggie Drive, Homosassa. The campground is connected to a beautiful dock and launch ramp and campstore/office is right on the Chassahowitzka River. The campground itself is situated just down a gorgeous tree-lined lane with a lovely bath house and recreation room. There is a nice website "Chassahowitzka River Campground" but you will need to phone the office for reservations and information. Call Lizzie! She is a doll and will be happy to help you!
